DeCadence was founded in 1992 by Mark Skandera, an amazing guy -- he's now a math professor!
We are a co-ed a cappella group, usually with 12 members, 6 men and 6 women, though this number has fluctuated throughout our history. We currently have 19 members! (That's the most we've ever had)
We recorded our album "Songs From the Closet." It's titled as such because it was recorded almost entirely in Patrick Schultz's closet!
The Spring of 2007 was a crazy semester. We traveled to UCLA for the California A Cappella Festival (CAF), to Davis for HellaCappella, and to Santa Cruz for AcquireFest. We traveled to New York City for our Spring: singing in Central Park, Times Square, in front of the Metropolitan Museum, and on the Today Show; singing with the NYU Vocaholics, and Columbia's Uptown Vocal. That semester we met Martin Sheen, and sang at a wedding during the procession! Also two videos of us became very popular on YouTube with close to a combined 1.5 million views! (One of these videos was latered shown on CNN)
In Fall 2007 we performed on a local radio station.
